Buyer
Under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer will play a vital role in managing the procurement process to ensure the timely and efficient supply of goods and services. This includes processing purchase orders, managing requisitions, administering contracts, and supporting the execution of procurement strategies to meet site operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement and Order Management:
- Process purchase orders for MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and direct charge requisitions.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with company terms, conditions, and policies.
- Supplier Engagement and Sourcing:
- Issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and conduct bid analyses to recommend supplier selections.
- Evaluate and prioritize supplier requests to maintain a continuous supply of materials.
- Expediting and Logistics Coordination:
- Expedite delivery dates to meet site schedules and operational requirements.
- Arrange transportation of materials in alignment with INCO terms and site needs.
- Collaboration and Problem-Solving:
- Work with cross-functional teams to assess priorities, address procurement challenges, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with vendors and accounting teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or disputes and ensure timely payments.
- Strategic Procurement Support:
- Assist in the execution of supply chain strategies and company objectives.
- Track and report on cost savings quarterly and annually.
Experience
Preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management or related fields.
- Professional designation or certification such as SCMP, CSCP, or CPIM is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to work with vendors and internal stakeholders to drive resolution on issues.
- Experience with SAP is considered an asset.
