TIMELINE: The rise and fall of Pascua-Lama
Chile鈥檚 environmental court has put the final nail in the coffin for Barrick Gold鈥檚 giant Pascua-Lama gold-silver project, straddling the border with Argentina, which had been on hold since 2013 over environmental concerns.
The court a legal challenge from the company to a 2018 ruling. At the time, Chile鈥檚 Environmental Protection Agency (SMA) ordered the 鈥渢otal and definitive closure鈥 of the project.
