Water Resources Engineer - Reno, Nevada (Hybrid) ,

SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer.

Description Of Responsibilities

Consult on projects in North America and internationally, requiring occasional travel.
Support assignments primarily including hydrologic and hydraulic engineering work related to the mining industry.
Manage the performance of surface water control facility designs, including hydrologic analysis for peak flow determination and hydraulic analysis of flood control design measures.
Lead and direct staff engineers to perform project work and to carry out project work directly.
Facilitate proposal preparation, project management and execution, and development of deliverable reports and detailed engineering plan sets.
Perform Civil 3D grading and design of heap leach pad facilities and tailings impoundments and occasionally roadways.
Conduct mine water management system analysis via water balance modeling, hydrometeorological analysis, hydraulic design of pressure flow pipelines, and tailings facility dam breach and inundation studies.
Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or closely related discipline.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Nevada preferrable, or willing to obtain reciprocity in State of Nevada.
At least ten (10) years of professional experience.
Considerable experience and proficiency with the following:
- Site plan design and Civil 3D grading.
- Facility layout and optimization including volumetric calculations for large earth or rock facilities.
- Rainfall-runoff modeling with HEC-HMS, HEC-1 or similar.
- Hydraulic 1D modeling with HEC-RAS; 2D modeling with HEC-RAS or FLO-2D a plus.
- Leachate control and collection system design.
- Development of water balance models, both spreadsheet and model based (i.e., GoldSim experience a plus).
- Surface water impoundment design (e.g., process ponds, water supply dams/reservoirs).
- Statistical analysis of hydrological data (e.g., cumulative frequency analysis).
A solid understanding of the regulatory framework for mine permitting in Nevada (expertise with additional states is a plus).
Experience and enjoyment in guiding and mentoring junior staff.
A track record of developing and maintaining client relationships and working in a team environment.

Job Summary

The Project Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting Project Services related tasks such as proposal preparation, document controls, time keeping, invoicing support, cost reporting, marketing content creation and technical writing. The Project Services Coordinator will support various tasks related to estimating, project controls, project management, marketing/business development, document controls and contract administration.

Duties And Responsibilities

Prepare prequalification packages and Expression of Interest requests
Oversee proposal (tender submission) production process
Oversee regional office document control for engineering, estimating, contracts and project services
Oversee file maintenance and tracking of proposal/client related information
Oversee meeting minute production for Commercial Services within the Corporate office
Resource for Redpath historical information inquiries, prepare historical write-ups and maintain library
Research competitors’ active projects
Assist with development of guidelines for the Project Management Office
Write procedures/guidelines as related to documentation best practices
Create PowerPoint presentations for special functions and Client meetings
Compose original writing for proposal related marketing material
Assist with wording in corporate profile, including quarterly updates
Assist with shareholder reports and other ad-hoc reporting
Provide Redpoint training, support, document uploads, etc.
Maintain logs relating to proposals, clients, etc., including actions items & follow-up
Type/edit letters and miscellaneous documents for proposals ensuring correct grammar, spelling and use of contract language
Review tender requests to ensure non-estimating related requirements are met
The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily “all inclusive”
Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information
Administer time keeping requirements for consulting and smaller construction projects
Prepare marketing content to support Business Development efforts
Support basic cost reporting, change management and project reporting on consulting and smaller construction projects
Creation of Notice of Project (NOP) after project award

Education

Required: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Experience
Preferred: Business, Accounting, Marketing, Construction Management, or Engineering

Work Experience

Required: 1 years’ related experience, if less than 1 year experience letter of recommendation and list of references (minimum)
Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in a position with knowledge of contracts, proposal writing, stylistic editing, proofreading, invoicing, cost reporting and document control as related to manufacturing, construction and/or mining.
